I first learned of Robert Fogarty and “Dear World, Write Our Future“ after seeing some of his images from the 2011 startup event Big Omaha. After spending quite a bit of time looking over his work, I couldn’t stop thinking about how amazing the scope of the Dear World project is – essentially giving voices to people that may otherwise go unheard. And they are powerful voices, with amazing messages of hopes, dreams, and fears. Needless to say, I was thrilled when Robert suggested a collaboration. As always, I hope the images speak for themselves.
A special thanks to the artistic contributions of Jami Graves, Phillip Harder, Garrett Cornelison, & little man Finn Graves.

Brianne Sanchez - This is awesome, Anna!
I remember you mentioning this project when we talked for the story about Van. Looks super cool!
The Des Moines “I Have a Dream” Foundation is hosting 100 “at-risk” kids from 7th-12th grade for a conference at Drake July 19-21. One of the workshop tracks is “Tell Your Story,” and if you’re interested in facilitating a talk / continuing this series, let me know!
